The six countries readers ask about most. Each guide is written for a single passport and a single border, because that pairing is what decides the answer.

Before you book

How current is any of this?

Every guide carries the date it was last reviewed, printed at the top where you can see it before you read a word. If a page looks old to you, treat it as old. Visa policy changes without announcement, and a site that hides the age of its writing is asking you to trust something it will not show you.

Can I rely on this instead of the embassy?

No, and you should not want to. What you get here is a plain reading of the rules so you arrive at the embassy or the application portal already knowing what you are looking at. The final word always belongs to the authority that issues the visa. Confirm the fee and the document list with them before you pay anything.

Why does my nationality change the answer?

Because the border does not ask where you are going, it asks who is arriving. The same destination can be visa free for one passport, visa on arrival for a second, and a six week application for a third. That is why guides here are written for a pair, one passport and one country, rather than as a single page pretending to serve everyone.

I think a rule on this site is wrong. What now?

Write to me with the page and what you saw, ideally with a link to the official source. Corrections are handled by the same person who wrote the guide, usually within a day, and the review date is updated so everyone after you can see it changed.

01

Read from the source

Rules are taken from the issuing country's own immigration authority, never from another blog repeating a figure nobody has checked since 2019.

02

Dated, so you can judge it

Every guide shows when it was last reviewed. That date is the most useful line on the page, and it is the first thing you should look at.

03

Written for one journey

Your passport and your destination decide the answer together. Guides are written for that pair, so nothing here is padded out to cover a traveller who is not you.
